God on Zion

JosseyMay 9, 12:47am
Psalms 2:1-12
1 Why have the nations been in tumult And the national groups themselves kept muttering an empty thing?
2 The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one Against Jehovah and against his anointed one,
3 [Saying:] "Let us tear their bands apart And cast their cords away from us!"
4 The very One sitting in the heavens will laugh;
Jehovah himself will hold them in derision.
5 At that time he will speak to them in his anger And in his hot displeasure he will disturb them,
6 [Saying:] "I, even I, have installed my king Upon Zion, my holy mountain."
7 Let me refer to the decree of Jehovah;
He has said to me: "You are my son; I, today, I have become your father.
8 Ask of me, that I may give nations as your inheritance And the ends of the earth as your own possession.
9 You will break them with an iron scepter, As though a potter's vessel you will dash them to pieces."
10 And now, O kings, exercise insight;
Let yourselves be corrected, O judges of the earth.
11 Serve Jehovah with fear And be joyful with trembling.
..12 Kiss the son, that He may not become incensed And YOU may not perish [from] the way, For his anger flares up easily.
Happy are all those taking refuge in him.

Isaiah 28:14-15
14 Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, YOU braggarts, YOU rulers of this people who are in Jerusalem:
15 Because YOU men have said: "We have concluded a covenant with Death; and with SheŽol we have effected a vision; the overflowing flash flood, in case it should pass through, will not come to us, for we have made a lie our refuge and in falsehood we have concealed ourselves";

Amos 6:8
"`The Sovereign Lord Jehovah has sworn by his own soul,' is the utterance of Jehovah the God of armies, `"I am detesting the pride of Jacob, and his dwelling towers I have hated, and I will deliver up [the] city and what fills it.
12 "`On a crag will horses run, or will one plow [there] with cattle? For into a poisonous plant YOU people have turned justice, and the fruitage of righteousness into wormwood,
14 Look! I am raising up against YOU, O house of Israel,' is the utterance of Jehovah the God of the armies, `a nation, and they must oppress YOU people from the entering in of HaŽmath down to the torrent valley of the ArŽa·bah.'"

Matthew 21:5
5 "TELL the daughter of Zion, `Look! Your King is coming to you, mild-tempered, and mounted upon an ass, yes, upon a colt, the offspring of a beast of burden.'"

Romans 10:
2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge;
3 for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness..
..11 For the Scripture says: "None that rests his faith on him will be disappointed."
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for there is the same Lord over all, who is rich to all those calling upon him.
13 For "everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."
Romans 11:
1 I ask, then, God did not reject his people, did he? Never may that happen! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God did not reject his people, whom he first recognized. Why, do YOU not know what the Scripture says in connection with E·liŽjah, as he pleads with God against Israel?
3 "Jehovah, they have killed your prophets, they have dug up your altars, and I alone am left, and they are looking for my soul."
..11 Therefore I ask, Did they stumble so that they fell completely? Never may that happen! But by their false step there is salvation to people of the nations, to incite them to jealousy.
..13 Now I speak to YOU who are people of the nations. Forasmuch as I am, in reality, an apostle to the nations, I glorify my ministry,
14 if I may by any means incite [those who are] my own flesh to jealousy and save some from among them.
15 For if the casting of them away means reconciliation for the world, what will the receiving of them mean but life from the dead?
..25 For I do not want YOU, brothers, to be ignorant of this sacred secret, in order for YOU not to be discreet in your own eyes: that a dulling of sensibilities has happened in part to Israel until the full number of people of the nations has come in,
26 and in this manner all Israel will be saved. Just as it is written: "The deliverer will come out of Zion and turn away ungodly practices from Jacob.
27 And this is the covenant on my part with them, when I take their sins away."

Hebrews 12:1-
1 So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. For the joy that was set before him he endured a torture stake, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Indeed, consider closely the one who has endured such contrary talk by sinners against their own interests, that YOU may not get tired and give out in YOUR souls.
4 In carrying on YOUR contest against that sin YOU have never yet resisted as far as blood,
5 but YOU have entirely forgotten the exhortation which addresses YOU as sons: "My son, do not belittle [the] discipline from Jehovah, neither give out when you are corrected by him;
6 for whom Jehovah loves he disciplines; in fact, he scourges every one whom he receives as a son."
7 It is for discipline YOU are enduring. God is dealing with YOU as with sons. For what son is he that a father does not discipline?
8 But if YOU are without the discipline of which all have become partakers, YOU are really illegitimate children, and not sons..
..11 True, no discipline seems for the present to be joyous, but grievous; yet afterward to those who have been trained by it it yields peaceable fruit, namely, righteousness...
...22But YOU have approached a Mount Zion and a city of [the] living God, heavenly Jerusalem, and myriads of angels,
23 in general assembly, and the congregation of the firstborn who have been enrolled in the heavens, and God the Judge of all, and the spiritual lives of righteous ones who have been made perfect,
24 and Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and the blood of sprinkling, which speaks in a better way than Abel's [blood].

Galatians 3
O senseless Ga·laŽtians, who is it that brought YOU under evil influence, YOU before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed impaled?
4 Did YOU undergo so many sufferings to no purpose?
..13 Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us because it is written: "Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake."
14 The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham migh
